Maybe 2 steps forward this time.
Yesterday, John got a tracheotmy, the ventilator is no longer down his mouth so the doctors can begin taking him out of the medically induced coma, this can take 6-8 days (for him to completely be free of the effects of the heavy sedation). They hope that several of his organ functions will start returning once the sedation wears off. John at times seems aware of his surrroundings. He kissed his wife.

Just heard of John's difficulties. Best wishes from all his friends at Bletchley Rugby Club in the UK. We all hope for his speedy recovery.
